Throwback Thursday: Fashion

As In Leah’s Wake and Terri’s forthcoming novel, Until I Come Home, largely involve teens, we thought it would be fun to take a look at how teen fashions have changed over the years.

Despite the hard times that people were living through during and after WWII, the 1940s were a fashionable decade. With the true Hollywood’s Golden Age stars looking radiant in gowns and fitted dresses were all the go.

Fashion that was popular in the 1950s included brightly coloured clothes and the famous ‘Teddy Boy’ outfits. Accessories became fashionable too.

The 1960s featured a number of diverse trends. It was a decade that broke many fashion traditions, mirroring social movements during the time. Mary Quant invented the mini-skirt, and Jackie Kennedy wore the pillbox hat.
