#BlogFlash2012: Day One – Thinking
The uninitiated think writing is easy. Creating, imagining, generating ideas is easy. Children come up with creative ideas. Expressing thoughts precisely, saying exactly what we mean, using the right, not almost the right words-this part is hard.
Great writers think deeply, discarding the shallow ideas that rise easily to the surface, writing and rewriting, thinking, evaluating, reaching for those golden nuggets of truth that turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. In thought, they forge connections, and from the fruits of their painstaking work we derive beauty and meaning.

Here we go! I'm pretty terrible at word caps, by the by, this one is nearly 200 words… I hope that's okay!

Thanks JB! I'll be sure to stop by!
Indeed, finding the right words to convey thoughts is the hardest as sometimes words can dilute the thought, the fantastic idea and not do it the justice the thought deserves. I struggle all the time to make it sound as good on paper as it was in my head! Thank you for organising this challenge and here is my link to my offering called The First Drink. xx

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Lizzie! Writing definitely is a labor of love!
Started today with a 10×10 poetic exercise. 10 lines with 10 syllables each. Giving myself approx 10 minutes to write and no longer to clean up… this was fun and didn't even involve bacon. http://ow.ly/1OogPH
That's an amazing idea, Kriss! I can't wait to follow your progress through the month!

Thank you, Stevie! I'm so thrilled you've decided to join in too – it's going to be a great month!
Sometimes the difference between a good book and a great one is that sense of language. I love it when I notice how beautifully sentences are constructed and images conveyed through the use of exactly the right words. Great thinking post!

I love your essay, Terri! So true that people think writing is easy when in fact, thinking about writing is easy whereas the actual writing is a labor of love!

Oh please don't worry, Rosalind! I wanted to set a low limit so people didn't feel intimated by having to produce lengthy posts every day, but really, it's whatever people feel most comfortable with!

I'm not as deep as you make writers sound, but here are the origins of the Cathartes Aura Series.
Thanks for having us all. It's been good for me to write about writing.
I love this idea, Terri!
Going to approach this as a series so that I don't have to keep saying bye to characters!
Here is day 1 – http://dreaming-of-stories.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08…
